Blake Shelton will join Shenandoah on their upcoming star-studded collaboration album, Every Road, due out on November 13. Shelton will appear on a sweet love song titled "Then A Girl Walks In."
"Blake Shelton is truly a big piece of this new record," frontman Marty Raybon told People. "His vocals are as solid as a slab of concrete. This would not be a today's country music duets album without him being a part of it."
Shenandoah member, Mike McGuire, continued on to explain how they figured out Shelton was a Shenandoah fan on The Voice.
"We knew Blake must be a Shenandoah fan when he picked one of our songs for the past four seasons in a row on The Voice for his artists to sing, but we never dreamed we'd have the opportunity to actually do a duet with him personally," McGuire said. "What a blessing! Garth [Brooks] may have friends in 'low' places but we have friends in HIGH places. Thanks Blake."
The idea of collaborating first came about during the CMA Awards last year. Raybon casually mentioned the idea to Shelton ahead of the awards ceremony to which Shelton replied, "Send me the song and I'm in."
Shelton is one of several country stars who will be featured on Shenandoah's forthcoming project album. Ahead of thealbum release, the group has already shared "If Only" with Ashley McBryde, "Every Time I Look At You" with Lady A and "I'd Take Another One Of Those" with Zac Brown Band.
