On this episode of This Is Paris, Paris Hilton and her co-host Hunter have crashed a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills watch party to get a little time with Kathy Hilton, Kyle Richards, Dorit Kemsley, Lisa Rinna, and Crystal Kung Minkoff to hear all about the upcoming season, why Kathy kept her participation on the show a secret from Paris and Nicky Hilton, what they wish had been left on the cutting room floor, and their favorite memories from past seasons. Paris admits she was scared for her mother to be a part of a show like this, because so often the episodes are centered around cruel infighting or backstabbing. “I’ve seen some people on the show who are vicious and weird and jealous,” she says. “But I’m not scared anymore because I’ve just heard how everyone’s getting along so much….everyone’s so beautiful and fun.” They prove it in this podcast, as they hold hands, call each other sisters, and laugh hysterically.
Paris has to ask Lisa about her Instagram dance videos: “I’m obsessed.” Lisa says she just needed something to do during lockdowns, and they were enjoyable because “I don’t think much about how I'm going to look or what people are going to think – it became a very freeing thing for me.” Paris asks Kyle, who’s been on the show since day one, her favorite memory of all eleven seasons. She says the trips certainly stand out: “We’ve gone to places I wouldn’t normally go, and they’ve pushed me to try things I wouldn't normally do,” she says. But mainly it’s watching her kids grow up. “Portia was in a crib and diapers, and now she’s a teenager,” she reflects; “Like the most high-end family home movies you can imagine,” Paris agrees. Crystal talks about the strangeness of coming straight out of quarantine into shooting a reality show, and Dorit tells Paris all about her bridal collection collaboration with Nektaria. And what’s Kathy’s pet peeve? “People who interrupt me.” Kyle breaks in: “You have to interrupt her, she never stops talking!”
Though Paris is no stranger to reality TV, she admits that she would have a hard time doing a show like Real Housewives, where she would have no control over the editing process. They all agree that while it certainly would be nice to be able to call the shots on what stays and what goes, it’s just the nature of the beast. “When we sign up for this, everything’s on the table,” Kyle says. Lisa agrees: “They expect us to be really authentic and to show our true lives, everything. The good, the bad, and the ugly.” Plus, Dorit’s first celebrity crush, the craziest rumor Lisa has ever heard about herself, what made Kathy tear up during filming, and much more Real-ness on this episode ofThis Is Paris.
